micromobs is a great tool for many different uses. Today our users are creating mobs with their families, coworkers, in classes, to collaborate on projects, and to plan trips or events. People are finding new ways to use micromobs everyday.

micromobs is different from other group services because it is so simple to use. We only care about making it easy for you to create a mob and start a discussion with people you care about. Creating a mob is as simple as forwarding an email thread to mobthis@micromobs.com

We’ve designed micromobs so that starting a mob is as easy as possible. You can create a mob directly from www.micromobs.com. If you are already a member and are logged in, you can click the create a mob button on the left column. You can also create a mob by forwarding an email thread to mobthis@micromobs.com and micromobs will automatically create a mob and invite your friends from the email thread.

Posting to micromobs is simple. You can post and respond directly on the website. You can also reply directly to notifications micromobs sends you over email. This means you wont have to log in to respond to messages from your mobs. Each mob also get’s its own email address so you can post by sending an email to that particular email address.

Today we only allow users to attach images to posts on micromobs. You can also add links from youtube, google docs, picasa, flickr etc.

Yes! When you click on the invite button in your mob, you can either add email addresses manually, or you can click skip and sign in to your email account to pull in your contacts from your gmail or hotmail address books.

All your mobs are private! We believe in complete privacy so you can be yourself with all the different groups you belong to. This is to ensure that you know exactly who you are posting to and to remove any confusion about who will be able to see your posts.

All mobs on micromobs are private. The only way to make your mob publicly available is by sharing the link at the bottom of the Invite popup. The invite pop up can be accessed by clicking on the "Add members" button.

Email digests give you the summary of the activity in the mobs you are a part of. It's a good way to stay in the loop even if you don't log into micromobs everyday.

You can use your facebook or twitter accounts to sign up for micromobs. This allows you to have 1-click sign on from there on out. And since micromobs is private, we don’t publish any of your data to facebook or twitter.

Yes! micromobs is a free service. You can create as many mobs as you want. Go nuts =) We’ll soon be introducing a premium plan with extra features that you can opt in for if you so choose.
